ROAMLOCK is a cloud-managed electronic master key system that gives organisations full control over who can access what — and when. Supplied and installed by Olympic Locksmiths, it replaces large mechanical key systems without rekeying, while retaining the reliability of unpowered locks and providing a complete digital audit trail across every door.

What is an Electronic Master Key System?
An electronic master key system is a locking solution that replaces traditional mechanical key hierarchies with digitally managed access permissions. One programmable key carries encrypted credentials for multiple locks. Permissions are issued, changed, or revoked centrally — without replacing cylinders or cutting new keys.
ROAMLOCK is an electronic master key system developed by YeboTech and distributed in Australia by Australian Lock Company (ALC). Its lock cylinders are manufactured locally in Australia.
Unlike most electronic access control systems, ROAMLOCK locks require no wiring and no batteries. The key powers each lock at the point of contact. Permissions are stored on the key and updated wirelessly via smartphone, so the system works in powered facilities, remote sites, and locations without internet access.
One ROAMLOCK Key holds permissions for up to 10,000 locks. Access rights are managed centrally and can be updated at any time without a locksmith call-out.

What are the Advantages of Electronic Master Key Systems?

How Does an Electronic Master Key System Work?
ROAMLOCK has three components that work together.
ROAMLOCK Key
The key looks and operates like a standard mechanical key, but carries encrypted digital access permissions. It powers the lock at the point of contact, completing a secure transaction in 60 milliseconds. Two models are available:
- Gen 1.5 – syncs via NFC; replaceable coin cell (CR2032) battery; 36,000 actuations; holds 4,500 authorisations
- Gen 2 — syncs via Bluetooth and NFC; rechargeable Li-ion battery; 15,000 actuations; holds 10,000 authorisations
One key blade fits all ROAMLOCK locks — no key profiles to manage, no waiting for cuts.
ROAMLOCK Manager
A cloud-based web platform for managing users, keys, and locks from a single dashboard. Administrators can issue or revoke access without visiting the site, set time-based rules, monitor lock status in real time, and run audit reports for compliance and security reviews. It scales from a single building to a national multi-site deployment.
ROAMLOCK Sync App
A smartphone app (iOS and Android) that connects field users to the ROAMLOCK Manager platform. It loads updated permissions onto keys and retrieves audit data via Bluetooth or NFC — no proprietary programming hardware required. Field teams can commission locks, update access rights, and upload activity logs whenever a connection is available.
ROAMLOCK Lock Cylinders
ROAMLOCK cylinders are designed and manufactured in Australia by Australian Lock Company, which has over 35 years of experience in high-security hardware.
Each cylinder is:
- Pick-proof with a drill-protected barrel
- Battery-free — powered through the key at the point of access
- Non-serviceable and maintenance-free
- Built to withstand hundreds of thousands of cycles
- Available in a broad range of lockset types for standard and custom configurations
Because cylinders are made locally, Olympic Locksmiths can source bespoke configurations with shorter lead times than imported systems — relevant for large or time-sensitive installations.

Frequenty Asked Questions
What is an electronic master key system?
An electronic master key system replaces a mechanical key hierarchy with digitally managed access permissions. One programmable key carries encrypted credentials for multiple locks. Administrators issue, change, or revoke access centrally — without rekeying cylinders or cutting new keys. ROAMLOCK is an electronic master key system designed for commercial, government, and institutional use.
How is an electronic master key system different from a mechanical one?
A mechanical master key system uses physical pin configurations to grant hierarchical access. It provides no audit trail and requires rekeying when a key is lost. An electronic master key system like ROAMLOCK stores permissions digitally, logs every access event, and allows remote deactivation of lost keys without touching any lock.
Can ROAMLOCK work without internet access?
Yes. ROAMLOCK locks are battery-free and offline-capable. Access permissions are stored on the key, so the system functions in remote sites and locations without power or internet. Audit logs are stored on the key and uploaded to ROAMLOCK Manager automatically when a connection becomes available.
How many locks can one ROAMLOCK key access?
The ROAMLOCK Gen 2 key holds up to 10,000 authorisations, meaning one key can be programmed with access permissions for up to 10,000 individual locks across a single or multi-site deployment.
What happens if a ROAMLOCK key is lost or stolen?
The key is deactivated remotely through the ROAMLOCK Manager platform. No locksmith is required and no cylinders need replacing. The deactivation takes seconds and any attempt to use the key after that point will be denied.
