Alarm Monitoring

Back to base alarm monitoring has several benefits in providing your business or home with reassurance and peace of mind that someone else is watching and caring about your assets. Your domestic or commercial alarm system can be connected to our back to base monitoring facility which is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

CENTRAL MONITORING is the business partner to OLYMPIC and monitoring your alarm is a key link in the electronic security of your business or home. If your alarm system is monitored, then it can be detected, and if it can be detected then it can be reported.

When your alarm system is activated, CENTRAL MONITORING receives a signal notifying them of a change in status of your alarm system. Procedures are then put in place to contact registered and authorised staff or owners of the breach. From this point an appropriate response to the alarm signal will be carried out providing customers the highest level of alarm monitoring services.

At OLYMPIC we are able to provide all customers with a choice of Dialler, GSM or GPRS monitoring options. The alarm activation would transmit through your domestic or commercial telephone line through to CENTRAL MONITORING for prompt action.

Whilst a Dial up system will immediately alert the monitoring station of the alarm activation via the existing telephone line, the monitoring station will not be aware of a line fault condition until the alarm panel fails to send through a test signal.

An alternative for your alarm monitoring option and a back-up system to your phone line is GSM or GPRS. GSM or Global System for Mobile Communications and GPRS, General Packet Radio Service are digital technology used for mobile phone communication but with the added ability to send data down the line. The GSM or GPRS device constantly monitors the telephone line and automatically switches and reports of the monitored line failure should a line interruption or malfunction occur.

Examples of procedure options if an alarm is active are:

  • Only Respond to multiple detections
  • Contact you on home or mobile phone
  • Contact a family member or member of staff
  • Dispatch a security patrol (your selected patrol company)
  • Contact Police

The response action by the monitoring station is always in line with your original instructions and preferred outcome.

Commercial customers can also request activity summary reports on a regular basis. These reports are based on the alarm activity and data and document the alarm system’s activities. Reports cover opening and closing of the businesses premises, alarm activations, and user code activity.

Ensuring your domestic or commercial alarm system is monitored can provide reassurance your property, assets, staff or family are safe 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
